Improved Front Porch Bourbon Barrel Rocking Chair-Local Pickup Only
from $800.00
Handmade repurposed bourbon barrel rocking chair. This handmade bourbon barrel rocking chair is sure to impress any bourbon lover or anyone else for that matter! This high quality rocking chair started from repurposed bourbon barrels. The original barrel, since it can only be used once for Kentucky Bourbon, has been disassembled and the stave wood used to make this chair. The wood is 1" thick white oak and very strong. The natural character from the aging process and stains from the leaking bourbon remains with each stave and carries over to the final project. For this reason, each chair has a slightly different appearance.
The rocking chair has been assembled to leave no fasteners exposed. The fasteners are exterior grade deck screws so the chair can stay outside and no fall apart. The chairs are fully stained with Golden Oak color from Minwax but can be stained to suit your style. After that, three coats of exterior spar urethane is applied to allow for many years of outdoor use in the sun.
The biggest upgrade from these chairs to the first version is the arc of the runner. The runner being the part that makes the 'rock' happen has been steamed and clamped to a fixture to create a consistent arc and what I call a 'deep rock', similar to a certain country restaurant that sells rocking chairs for the front porch.
The seat sits 15.5" from the ground. The chair is about 26" wide and about 40" tall with the back. It sits 36" deep.
This chair is big and difficult to ship. I prefer local pickup to Union Kentucky because the shipping costs are steep.
Made to order, this chair will not disappoint!
